This event is a no alcohol event. We made this choice because we want our events to be about the music, the art and not about alcohol. We find that too much alcohol can hinder the rich and memorable experience for many audience members, who do wish to just come and listen.
Organiser Joanna Ryan-Purcell said many events she ran in the original Blue Door in Nenagh on Pearse Street were no alcohol events and the response from both audience and musicians was positive. The audience felt they could really hear the music and the musicians felt like they were really heard and properly listened to, which in turn made them and their music feel appreciated.
Due to this positive response from past events, Joanna has chosen to make any future Blue Door events alcohol-free events. “I, as an artist and a performer, appreciate when an audience appreciates me and my work and I want to provide that same level of appreciation for any musicians and performers who perform on my Blue Door Sessions stage,” she said.
As stated above, tickets are available at www.bluedoorsessions.ie. Book early as tickets are limited due to current restrictions. We hope to see you there!
