Okay, Summer is just over but now it’s time to mull over the best waterparks that we attended during the summer break. So, without further adieu, bust out the swim shorts, pump up the armbands, dust off the ducky rubber ring and get ready for some seriously fun splashing. 5 of the best waterparks in the Ireland are guaranteed fun whatever the weather.
Slides are universally adored, right? Even if they aren’t, the variety on offer in the Irelands waterparks is impressive enough given our islands population. Why not go on some sort of waterpark-influenced mega road trip around the country? We’ve heard worse ideas. Don’t forget your towel.
#1 – Aqua Splash Lough Derg
Explore the Aqua Splash Inflatable Waterpark and try to conquer all the obstacles with your friends and family and watch them totally wipe out!
Aqua splash Lough derg is a whole lot of fun and by far the best of the ones we visited. The Inflatable Waterpark located on Lough Derg, Dromineer is home to one of the largest floating AQUA PARKS in Ireland. The enormous “floating playground” is exceptional value and great for birthday parties, family reunions, company picnics or just having fun with friends. The equipment is state-of-the-art and it’s great for all ages!
The inflatable water park offers an action-packed floating Challenging Course that delivers heart-pumping fun for those who like to slide, bounce, jump and splash.

#2 – BaySports
Not as much fun as Aquasplash Loughderg, Baysports – this Inflatable Waterpark is made up of a collection of custom made original, one off, award winning floating slides, rockers and challenges, entertaining and delighting people of all ages and abilities. One of these slides is ATHLONE CASTLE a multifunctional jumping platform and smaller slide for younger children. This slide pays homage to the great castle fortification in Athlone on the Western banks of the River Shannon… which once stood guard at of the most important crossing points of the longest river in Ireland, the River Shannon.
Various different sections of the park are named after either famous Irish landmarks or come from the rich mythological tradition of Irish story telling.

#4 – Funtasia Waterpark, Co. Louth
More so for the younger kids Funtasia has over 200 different water-based activities for you and your family to enjoy. Defy gravity on the thrilling water slides like the Boomerang and Super Bowl. Explore Pirate’s Cove play area just make sure you keep an eye out for the giant pirates head, it will dump 500 litres of water on unsuspecting people below. For the smaller boys and girls there’s a toddlers area with shallow water, spray cannons and little water slides. Nothing like #1 and #2 AquaZone is the perfect family day out, with raging indoor waterpark adventures for the bigger kids and pirate play areas for the younger ones.
